Picture Frame

A few years ago I received two rough-wooden picture frames. They had been lying in a corner ever since as I didn’t like them enough to use them, but I didn’t want to just throw them away either. A while back I finally had an idea on how to make them more appealing. I’m not much of a carpenter and usually take the easy way out by using cardboard instead. This time however I wanted to do it right and used actual wood for the decoration.

I found some cat silhouette on Google for the decoration templates. Using a figure-saw I struggled but eventually managed to cut out all of the required parts. It was a bit of a struggle as I didn’t have a proper workbench and ended up having to kneel in front of the coffee table, balancing little pieces of wood on its corners. Sanding them smooth I did lying on the couch watching the TV series Grimm, which I regret a little because of all the dust it produced. Painting wasn’t easy either as all the little pieces stuck to whatever surface I placed them on. Still I’m pretty happy about the result.
