An old friend introduced me to this game about 20 years ago. I’ve been playing it casually off and on for a couple of years. Most of my cards are from the Mirrodin and Kamigawa expansion set. I’ve always been more of a casual player and only tried to compete in one tournament where I failed terribly. Although I think the game is enjoyable, I don’t feel the need to keep up with all the new expansions and card abilities. The worse thing about this game; having to constantly read your opponents cards and remember what everything does.

Blue / Artifact Dek

This is probably my most enjoyable and successful Dek at the moment. It revolves around lots of card cycling/drawing, quickly placing down as many artifacts as possible, using them to bringing out high level creatures. It’s nothing special, but it’s fast and effective. In a 1vs1 I’ll usually win unless my opponent has some high level sacrifice/token Dek. In a group fight most will start targeting me as soon as they understand what’s going on. I have gone Dek death more than once if the fight takes too long.

White / Artifact Dek

This Dek basically tries to bring out smaller creatures, then boosting them with equipment. It’s not as effective as my Blue Artifact Dek and I’ll usually play this if I’m in a group game and don’t want to attract too much attention to myself.

White / Soldier Dek

My Kamigawa soldier Dek is a little more diverse then the others. It’s basically delaying tactics with smaller samurai creatures until I can play Konda, Lord of Eiganjo. Many of these samurai have the useful Bushido ability.
