RAFT This is a cool little game I bought after watching videos on the YouTube channel CallMeKevin. RAFT is a survival game that reminded me of a little of Subnautica. At the moment there are two chapters and perhaps there will be a third in the future. There is.. a story but don’t worry too much about it. Take your time, have fun building a cool raft and explore this watery world. Read more… |

Subnautica Below Zero Below Zero was an attempt at capturing the magic of the first Subnautica game and maybe even improving on the concept. It did in some aspects but failed in others. Like many sequels, it couldn’t live up to the original. I’m not regretful that I bought the game but I’m hesitant in recommending it to others.. The game has some absolutely beautiful biomes to explore but half of these only need to be visited once. It’s also a shame that Below Zero has very little left of the original games survival and horror genre. Read more… |

Subnautica I’d heard that this game was really scary.. so I wasn’t sure if I wanted to play it as I’m not a fan of horror games. After completing Subnautica multiple times, I have to say that even though there were some stressful moments it’s not that bad. It’s actually very beautiful and relaxing most of the time. I love this game! Read more… |

Stardew Valley At the end of October 2020 I was watching a play-through of this game on the YouTube channel Call Me Kevin and bought the game soon after. I instantly fell in love with this sweet little game! So much so, that I pretty much completed most of its content on four characters! Even though the game came out in 2016 it is still being updated with new features, which is fantastic. Read more… |

Witcher II This page may see some changes in the near future as the game is split into two separate stories and I’ve only played ‘Iorweth path’. Not sure when I’ll have time but I’d also like to follow the other path with Vernon Roche. When I first started playing the Witcher 2 I didn’t like it.. not one bit! But I’m not someone that gives up easily and eventually I warmed up to it a little. Knowing I’ve only played half a story, I’d like to give it another shot.. Read more… |

Witcher I Having read the book series before starting the first game, I was delighted to see it lives up to the source material. Most of the game is chapter based and plays out in and around the city of Vizima. Generally I enjoyed the game and even played it twice in a row just to make sure I completed all available quests. For me this game is rather unique as it’s the first one I’ve played where you’re decisions actually matter! Not just for this game but for its sequel, as I’m planning to start it with a save file. Skyrim After playing Morrowind and Oblivion it was only obligatory that I play Skyrim as well. I did have to get over the fact that this time the game was primarily made for console and not for PC. The controls and interface were some getting used to but in the end I really loved the game! The game looks great, the world is engaging and fighting dragons is just awesome! Read more… |

Magic: The Gathering One of the few table-top games I’ve actively played. This game had my interested for many reasons; strategy, collectables, social interaction and beautiful art work. I was most active between 2003 and 2005 with the Mirrodin and Kamigawa expansions. For both expansions I bought the box-sets that also provided novels explaining the story behind the cards. PC Cabinet I’ve created a wooden cabinet for my second PC screen to stand on. For the longest time it stood on an ugly little crate that wasn’t even the right height. The cabinet design is based on my HAF912 computer case and is also functional, it’s possible to place things inside but.. because of a design flaw it is a little hard to open. Read more... |

Oblivion I’ve had this game for over 10 years and never finished it until November 2018, although it wasn’t for the lack of trying. I’ve created many characters of many different classes and races but never managed to play for more than a handful of days before giving up on them. The levelling system was flawed and although you couldn’t walk five minutes without stumbling on a cave, ruin or Oblivion gate the world felt empty. Even so I knew the game had enormous potential, if only I could find the right balance of skills and playstyle. Once a while I’d give it another go and eventually cracked the code. Read more… |

Halloween 2018 This was quite a large project! With a handmade costume, custom props, expensive wig and specific weather requirements. It was also one of the most successful photo-shoots so far! We had SO many good photo’s that it was hard to choose, many requiring little to no editing at all. Read more… |

Doodles & Drawing These sections of the creative menu has been improved to make them more user friendly. This is still a work in progress as currently a lot of data is loaded when you click on the various options, which might case issues for those with a slow internet connection. I’ve added a few new drawings, updated some already uploaded and will try and replace the ‘Doodles older’ with new ones each month. Doodles & Drawings |

Easter 2018 animation I have a Facebook page and although I’m not very active, I do like to change my profile picture/cover depending on the season and during holiday events. In March I discovered that you can also use animated covers and thought it would be nice to create one for Easter. Within a week I created handmade ‘puppets’, recorded their movements with a GoPro and edited it into a short clip with Adobe Premiere. Read more… |

Coconut Village I had a lot of coconut shells and decided to use them and create a village for the front garden. I setup three houses and a little garden with a scarecrow but ran into problems after just a few weeks. Seems the wood-glue I had used wasn’t capable of withstanding the elements. Many of the houses started to fall apart and I tried to fix them with a different type of glue. Read more... |

Aztec Temple In April I started the creation of a little Aztec/Mayan style temple using wood and clay. This is one of the best project I even made. It was quite a lot of work, I made a few mistakes, but also learned a lot. Read more... |

Pokemon Go I’ve played Pokemon Yellow, Silver and Gold. When this game came out I thought it would be fun to try and I’ve enjoyed the hell out of it! The game mechanics aren’t the same as the original Nintendo games but that’s to be expected with a mobile game. Instead of weakening pokemon before catching them you just throw pokeballs at them until you catch it or it runs away. You also don’t fight other people personally but you fight their pokemon at gyms. Read more… |

Kitsune Cosplay On Saturday 23 April 2016 my best friend Remco Jakma and I went to the Elf Fantasy Fair at castle Haar in Haarzuilens. Remco went to photograph the event and I thought it would be fun to go in costume. During a few months before the event my mother and I worked hard on a kitsune costume. Read more... |

Neverwinter Nights This is a game I’ve tried to complete multiple times without success. After just a few chapters, I’d find that my character choice wasn’t very good or I’d become bored with the repetitiveness of the game. The hardest part of this game: building a character that is enjoyable to play. I’ve tried a few different class combinations, jet never felt I got it completely right. Eventually I did managed to reach the games conclusion with a Sorcerers build and although I was happy to finally finish the game I found the ending itself very disappointing... Read more… |

Frogspawn Every year between March and April, frogs and toads travel back to the pond they were born to lay their eggs. Frogs and toads don't have it easy, they die while crossing the road, tadpoles get eaten by many animals and their habitat in general is destroyed by construction and poison. Frogs and toads might not be cute and furry but they are a very important link in the food-chain. You can assist these critters by supporting them in their first few weeks of life. Read more... |
